Culturally & Linguistically Responsive Arts Teaching - Course Syllabus
Welcome to Culturally & Linguistically Responsive Arts Teaching, an online course for educators looking to build personal and student skills in the use of technology. The content is based on International Society for Technology in Education standards, Common Core State Standards, the P21 Framework, the California Continuum of Teaching Practices, California Professional Standards for Education Leaders (CPSEL) and content from other noteworthy contributors.
Online Content: This website houses the content of the course, which is anticipated to take 8–10 hours to complete. Time is determined by the participant’s current understanding and competency of the material. Each module includes content that introduces the topic, with linked articles, videos, and web-tool suggestions. Tasks that require submission of work, as well as sample submissions, are included on the page. Refer to the rubric in this syllabus for grading criteria.
Quality of Submitted Work: Review your submissions before uploading them. We expect the submissions to include proper spelling, capitalization, punctuation, usage, and word choice. Additionally, check that all included links are properly hyperlinked and are appropriately directed to live and current web pages.
Grading: All submissions receive a complete or incomplete grade. An incomplete grade will include a detailed explanation and suggestions to what is needed to receive a passing grade. All work must be submitted by September 15, 2024. Work will receive full credit if done in accordance with the rubric. Grading will typically occur at least once a week, and it is recommended that participants continue to submit work even though there may be ungraded assignments.
